Viewing Finished Goods by Product Family
The Finished Goods view organizes your catalog by product family, so you can see everything that goes into a product in one place. Starting from a product family, you can drill down to its individual SKUs and its finished goods, then follow the supply chain upstream to the suppliers behind it, tier by tier. It builds on the tier by tier supplier tracing you already use in the catalog, and it is a read-only view computed from data you already have.
This article shows you how to turn the view on, read it, and navigate it.
Step 1: Open your Catalog and go to the Products area. Open the actions menu, find Experimental Features, and turn on New Finished Goods view. The view is opt in, set per user, and you can switch it off at any time. The rest of your catalog is unchanged.
Step 2: Your Finished Goods view now opens as a hierarchy. Each top row is an aggregate product, which is a product family. The row shows a count of the SKUs it contains.
Step 3: Expand an aggregate product to see the next level: its SKUs and its finished goods. A small badge on each row tells you what it is.
- AG is an aggregate product, the family at the top.
- SKU is a sellable variant, such as a specific color and size.
- AP marks an Altana product, and FG marks a finished good.
Step 4: Keep expanding to walk the supply chain upstream from a finished good to the suppliers behind it, one tier at a time. Upstream rows are marked with a tier badge: S1 for a tier 1 supplier, S2 for a tier 2 supplier, and so on.
Every row shows the product name, its HS Code, and its Supplier, so you can read where a product comes from as you drill.
Step 5: Select any row to open its full detail in the side sheet. For a product you will see its name, product ID, global HS6 code, and description, along with its aggregate product and the SKUs linked to it.
Switching the view off
To return to the standard flat list of finished goods, open the actions menu again and turn off New Finished Goods view. Your choice is remembered for you and does not affect other users.
