The Canvas

The Canvas is a visual map of your network. It shows how a risk connects through your supply chain, so you can see which entities are involved and how they relate to one another. You'll find it on the Network (or Value Chains) tab when you open an exposure, supplier, or product.

Reading the canvas

Each entity appears as a node, and the lines between them — the edges — represent the trade relationships connecting them. Entities in your Suggested network are marked with the Suggested icon, so you can tell them apart from your Verified network at a glance. Entities identified as exposures have their risk list attached — click it to open the full exposure details and see exactly why the entity was flagged. To trace how a risk reaches you, hover over any entity to highlight the path of goods through your network.

Viewing and filtering transactions

Click any edge to open the transactions panel for that relationship. There you'll see the underlying transactions — transaction date, sender, address, receiver, and more. To make sense of the data quickly:

  • Group by any field by dragging its column header into the grouping area. For example, grouping by HS code shows the products moving along that relationship.
  • Filter by transaction date to focus on a specific time period.

Use this to check whether the HS codes are relevant and judge the materiality of the risk before making a determination.

Grouping the canvas

Open the canvas settings to change how entities are grouped:

  • By location (the default) — each node is a company at a specific location.
  • By organization — all locations of the same company are combined into a single node, which makes a complex network much easier to follow.
  • By product — entities are grouped at the product level.

Focusing your view

Toggle your Suggested network on or off to hide the predicted connections and show only the network you've confirmed. Combined with grouping and zoom, this lets you view the canvas at whatever level of detail works best for you.

Acting on what you find

Once you've reviewed an exposure and its transactions, you can update the status of the exposure directly, then work through the remaining edges the same way.
