Transform vague product descriptions into accurate classifications

Altana automatically identifies vague goods descriptions, utilizes AI for online research to improve them, and provides clear explanations — all while keeping approval of the enhanced descriptions and their corresponding classifications in your hands.

Step 1: When viewing your full list of Products, you can see the Provided Goods Description that was supplied when the product was uploaded to Altana's platform.

In the example below, you can see there are two different products with "Frames" provided as their description. These vague descriptions mean it's unclear whether these products are picture frames, glasses frames, or any other kind of frame. This kind of ambiguity slows you and your team down, requiring that you hunt for more information to reach the correct classification.

Step 2: Altana's AI models supercharge your research to put the information you need right at your fingertips.

Navigate to the Classification tab and immediately see which products we have marked with an orange flag, indicating that they have vague goods descriptions. Directly underneath, you'll find Altana's suggested goods description for the product, which has been automatically enriched with online research.

Altana Partner Tip: Use the orange flags for vague goods descriptions to help inform your project quotes for your importer clients.

Step 3: Click on each flagged description to accept Altana's suggestions or to provide edits of your own.

Step 4: Accepting Altana's suggested description will replace the orange flag with a purple sparkle, indicating that you have enhanced the description with Altana's AI.

Editing a description will replace the icons with a purple pencil, indicating that you have manually made edits.

Step 5: Once you have enhanced a goods description, Altana will automatically re-classify the product based on the updated information. You can always refer back to the original provided goods description by clicking on the product and clicking Provided Data.

Step 6: Need to make a change in the future? You have the ability edit a goods description, and generate a new suggested classification, at any time.

Step 7: It is crucial to keep a clear log of your actions when working on classification projects. Our Audit Log tracks all edits and augmentations made to each product for defensibility.
