Consolidated Passport View and Selective Sharing
Collaborate on product passports through a unified interface, with granular control over what value chain information you share and accept.
Overview
The passport experience has been redesigned around two key improvements. First, the Sending and Receiving tabs have been merged into a single consolidated view, making collaboration simpler and more intuitive. Second, you now have precise control over which parts of your value chain you share with each collaborator and which updates you accept into your Catalog.
Consolidated Passport View
Passports now present a unified interface where you and your collaborators can see the complete value chain in one place.
Roles in the Passport
Within the consolidated view, each participant is clearly identified as either a Passport Owner or a Subscriber. This distinction determines how changes flow:
- Changes made by Subscribers appear as Suggested until the Owner accepts them.
- Changes made by Owners appear as Verified/Confirmed, but they do not appear in the Subscriber's Catalog until the Subscriber explicitly accepts them.
This means no changes are ever made to your Catalog without your direct action — regardless of your role in the passport.
Comparing Updates
A diffing experience lets you compare incoming updates against your existing data before deciding what to accept, so you can review changes efficiently within the single value chain view.
Selective Sharing
You now have granular control over what you share with collaborators in each passport.
- Choose which nodes of your value chain to include in each passport.
- Set default sharing preferences for product attributes and dimensions across all passports — so you don't have to configure sharing from scratch every time.
This means you can maintain proprietary value chain details while still collaborating effectively on the information your partners need.
Selective Acceptance
When a collaborator shares updates with you, you can choose exactly what to bring into your Catalog.
- Select specific product attributes, dimensions, and documents to accept from the passport.
- Choose which value chain nodes to add to your Catalog.
- Override warnings — if accepting data would replace existing information in your Catalog, you'll see a warning before proceeding so you can make an informed decision.
Key Details
- No changes are made to your Catalog without your explicit action. You must accept changes from a passport to move them into your Catalog.
- When you accept a value chain node, all information and documents associated with that node are also accepted.
- If accepted data would override existing information in your Catalog, you'll receive a warning before proceeding.
- All interactions, including Requests, now happen within the consolidated passport workspace.
